U.S. Advisory Commission on Public Diplomacy names new Executive Director
Matt Armstrong, author and publisher of the Public Diplomacy blog MountainRunner.us, was sworn in as new Executive Director of the U.S. Advisory Commission on Public Diplomacy earlier this week.
Armstrong is hired by the Commission as a civil servant on a two-year appointment.
According to the Department of State’s website,
“The U.S. Advisory Commission on Public Diplomacy is a bipartisan panel created by Congress and appointed by the President to appraise U.S. Government activities intended to understand, inform, and influence foreign publics.”
The Advisory Commission’s seven members are appointed by the U.S. President with the advice and consent of the U.S. Senate and advise the President, the Secretary of State as well as Members of Congress in matters related to the public diplomacy.
