Donald Trump calls for termination of J-1 visa program

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump called for the termination of the J-1 visa program in an immigration policy proposal recently published on his campaign website, Bloomberg Politics reports.

Under the heading “Immigration reform that will make America great again,” Trump’s website describes his plan to replace the J-1 program:

“Jobs program for inner city youth. The J-1 visa jobs program for foreign youth will be terminated and replaced with a resume bank for inner city youth provided to all corporate subscribers to the J-1 visa program.”

Trump’s proposal to eliminate the J-1 visa program is part of his proposed immigration policy that addresses a wide range of visa and citizenship-related topics including “birthright citizenship,” refugee status, green cards, the H-1B visa program, and undocumented workers.
