CSIET Program Officer Job Description

Responsibilities:

Outreach (year-round)
Under the direction of the Executive Director, responsible for the Educational Outreach Subcommittee and planned activities (updating publications, developing contests or other projects as they arise). Responsibilities include the coordination of working group activities (agenda setting, meeting planning and logistics, logging call summaries and reporting to the membership);

Membership (June-October)
Processing renewal/new member applications and maintaining accurate CSIET membership records (using an MS Access-based membership database); conducting the membership recruitment and marketing efforts; and overseeing membership outreach and communication efforts;

Annual Fund Drive (November-December)
Maintaining Annual Fund database and production of annual fund materials and mailing;

Research/Statistics (year-round)
Research, develop and maintain an information clearinghouse database of school policies relevant to international youth travel. Compilation of annual CSIET statistical collection and reporting; and production of annual report;

Invoices/Deposits
Responsible for all of the organization’s invoicing and deposits (using QuickBooks);

Annual Conference
Under the direction of the Executive Director, collaborate with colleagues to ensure a successful event and oversee certain aspects of the event (reception, speaker biographies, exhibitor descriptions and ordering supplies);

Program Evaluation
Under the direction of the Executive Director, collaborate with colleagues to complete the annual evaluation on schedule. After the evaluation is complete, work with our website developer to update the Let’s Get Started website;

Administrative Responsibilities:
General office duties including receiving answering phones, light filing, ordering of office supplies; under the direction of the Executive Director, light bookkeeping and records management. Maintenance of the postal meter; and other duties as assigned.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • BA/BS degree;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • 1-2 years of professional work experience;
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint & Publisher) familiarity with QuickBooks, Adobe Contribute, Survey Monkey, Constant Contact, and Google Plus; and
  • An interest in academic exchange programs and/or former participation in exchange programs desired.

It establishes standards for organizations based in the United States that operate programs at the high school level, monitors compliance with those standards, disseminates information regarding youth exchange, and promotes international youth exchange.
